This section gives you information of the various courses I give for singers, singing teachers, choral directors and class teachers. The course structure is flexible and can be tailored to suit the needs of any group.
I also give choral workshops, focussing on technique for healthy and efficient voice production.
My ongoing work with boys' changing voices for the National Youth Choir of Great Britain was recently featured in the Guardian.
NEW for Sing Up is an e-book called Inside the voice. This is a comprehensive, multimedia guide to the voice and vocal health. The accompanying videos of vocal exercises can be found separately on YouTube.

I am involved in several research projects, covering different areas of voice research. The first is looking at the voices of children and adolescents. I have researched the development of the vocal structures from birth to adult, and how this informs voice teaching. My PhD with Graham Welch and Johan Sundberg concerned the vocal health and development of intensively trained boy choristers.
I have also been involved in projects with David Howard, looking at the use of technology in the teaching studio; how a visual computer display of pitch or the frequency spectrum can help both the teacher and student. We are currently investigating the singing voices of professional child singers.
