For their new album, On Song, Guitar Trek have turned to the world of popular music. They have invited seven composers – three Australians and one each from Brazil, Russia, the UK and the USA – to create new classical guitar pieces inspired by pop songs. ‘

From Joni Mitchell to Lady Gaga, Scott Joplin to Nirvana, the results are irresistible: brilliant re-imaginings of beloved songs for the harmonic and textural riches of the guitar quartet.

The album finishes with a bonus track, Cuban Landscape with Sones, written especially for Guitar Trek by the great Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.
